Girls Basketball – Corning at Horseheads

A battle at the top of STAC West is on the horizon, as rivals Corning and Horseheads clash one more time, each with 5-4 league records. A victory by Horseheads would mean a West division title for them, as they would own both tiebreakers over Corning and Elmira (2-0 vs. each). A Corning win would put the Hawks one game up with one league game to go.
In their previous encounter on December 20, Horseheads got the close win, 55-49. Sophia Bonnell put up 20 for the Blue Raiders, matching Corning’s Jenna DiNardo’s 20. A big 4th quarter sealed the game for the Blue Raiders, which also got 13 from Megan Wolf and 12 from Emma Kamas.
