The STAC Tennis Playoffs will get underway this week. The first matchup pits Central champion Susquehanna Valley traveling to West champion Ithaca. The other matchup will see East champion Seton visiting Metro champion Vestal.
Ithaca is currently undefeated and will welcome 8-4 Susquehanna Valley on Thursday. Their only common opponent has been Binghamton. Ithaca swept them 7-0, while SV lost 4-3. Ithaca won the championship last year in a 5-2 victory over Union-Endicott.
Vestal started off the season 1-2, but then ran off six straight wins. They do have two victories over Union-Endicott, which helped seal the division. Seton has simply been dominant at 11-0 in league and 12-0 overall. Two of those victories are over Chenango Valley, handing the Warriors their only losses this season.
The championship will be played on Friday at the smaller school of the two semi-final winners.
